Im new & in need of help...

Hello,

Im new to this but want to start training with KBs.

I go to the gym every week & do mostly cardio with some free weights & dumbells etc & want to use KBs as well at home but i dont know where to start. Can anyone recommend what is best for a girl to start out with - 8kgs or 12kgs?

Also can anyone recommend any books/dvds to learn how to use them?

I just want to improve my fitness more & tone & lose a bit of weight?

Hello & welcome

Start with the 8kg (get a pair if you can) & if you can afford it get a 12kg - as you can start out doing easier exercises with the 12kg and progress.

Any of the AOS DVDs are great for toning up (start with the easiest) Mike Mahler's Fat Loss DVD is really good for nutrition and Double KB exercises - as long as you can get past its masculine theme...

You should email LKBs through the contact us page & they may be able to do you package deal or something - either way they're very helpful.

Iron Core

Mike Mahler's DVDs are excellent but are geared towards men. Try the Iron Core DVD series.

Marcus' advice is spot on regarding weight too :)

getting started

you have come to right place - i attended one of the lkb masterclasses back in january and haven't been to the gym since. 8kg is perfect to start, i use mine all the time.

Did you purchase any DVDs that they guys recommended? I've just bought my first lkb and like you got the gym on a regular basis but want to see more results.

No i have been terrible, I still go to the gym but after my summer holiday I need to get back into shape! I have put an 8Kg kettlebell on my xmas list! Should I buy a pair?
As i mentioned above I wasnt sure what was really suitable for girls. How are you getting on? have u noticed a difference? I want the same results as you, to be leaner and more toned!
I'd like to hear how you are finding the workouts
