still alive :)

i've been silly busy at work recently, but im off on my hols for 10 days now and fully intend to get back into judo and training properly when i return. i did a bit of grip stuff the day and was suprised how little i've lost. i guess muscle memory is a wonderful thing :)

8k kb juggling: 5mins
7lb sledge swings and levers: 5mins
grippers: 5mins
bent 2 5mm x 100mm bright nails

i was smashing the coc1 with left and got a few closes with right.

volume gripper work - 2

3mins shadow boxing (wearing thick ski gloves)

cocT - no set half reps: 1x10 (still wearing gloves)
cocT - no set invert half reps: 1x20 (still wearing gloves)
cocT - no set close: 1x10
cocT - no set invert: 1x5
coc1 - parallel set: 8x1
coc1 - parallel set to 5sec grind: 3x1
coc1 - no set close: 3x1 (nailed with left, sparrows todger away with right)
cocT - no set close: 1x25
some light extender work + good hand/arm stretch.

right hand followed immediately by left. no rest on reps, 1min on sets.

the #2 will fall soon! i have squeezed a few other 2's recently and mine is solid in comparison. a friend has a black spring #2, and i can get that to around 4-5mm, i struggle to get my shiny one past parallel. i have read alot about grippers varying, and im sure few people would say they have an 'easy' #2, but i was shocked at the difference. ha ho, it will make closing it more rewarding :)

i will do a few more similar sessions then re-introduce my #2.

volume gripper work

3mins shadow boxing
7lb hammer - cleans: 10/10
10k hammer - cleans: 10/10

cocT - fast, no set: 1x10
cocT - invert, no set: 1x5
cocT - invert, set + grind: 2x1
coc1 - parallel set: 12x1
coc1 - parallel set + 10 sec grind: 3x1
coc1 - cheat to neg: 3x1
cocT - fast, no set: 1x20

big hand/arm stretch + some golf ball rotations.

all grippers done right hand followed immediately by left (stronger hand). 1min rest between sets, but 30-45secs light extender band work. extender stuff on last few sets made my forearms feel they were about to explode, never had pump quite like it.
