Velocity diet results week 1

Weighed myself this morning, and I have lost just under 3 kg's and 1 1/2 inches off my waist. Pretty happy overall. Very pleased with my self control. Had a party yesterday - lots of pizza, crisps/pretzels, dips etc. Not one morsel passed my lips.
Today is my solid meal day. Got to be careful not to fall off and indulge all those cravings.
No training today, but will be going for a long walk with my family.

Cheaters diet update

I've been following a slightly different version of Joel Marion's cheaters diet for the past 11 days.
I'm on a 5 day cycle involving 2 days of undereating, a mixed day, and 2 days of overeating. My aim is to add some muscle size whilst continuing to lose bodyfat.

Cheaters Diet progress

I am now 4 weeks in to Joel Marions cheaters diet. Pretty good progress so far. Lost 7 lbs of weight and reduced my waist measurement 3 inches.
This has been accomplished whilst undertaking a new cycle with the 32k bells - with which I am making progress.
It really is an easy to follow plan - I would recommend it to anyone - and I will probably continue to eat like this going forward.

2 weeks in

I signed up for Joel Marion's cheaters diet test group a few weeks ago. Now 2 weeks in. Lost 4 lb's and 1.5 inches off my waist. It's a really easy to follow eating plan. I can see myself sticking with it when the test group finishes as I am finding it that enjoyable.
The first week was pretty tough, but last week was fine, and this week is going to be a doddle. Really looking forward to Sunday - as that will be the 'cheat' day of the diet. I have been listing all the foods I have craved - I will shop on saturday night and eat the lot on sunday!

The way I eat

I thought I'd start a diet blog to go alongside my training blog. I'll start with a bit of background.

I'm a FFB - former fat boy for those unfamiliar with the term. I basically love all things carb - cornflakes with loads of milk and sugar, biscuits, pretzels, etc, etc, etc, and I love eating late at night. Problem is that with my endomorphic tendencies, carbs and late night eating combine to give me ample padding around the middle.

About a year ago I decided that I didn't have to accept that the padding was here to stay. I experimented with a few different eating patterns until I settled on how I eat now.

My rules - some of you will recognize these rules  - I don't profess to have discovered them - only adapted them to my own needs.

eat 5/6 times a day

protein with every meal

lots of green veg

carbs only at breakfast and post workout - as I train early morning, this means my daily carb intake is complete by about 8 am

don't mix carbs and fat in large amounts in the same meal.

non calorific drinks only and about a gallon of water a day

make sure I get enough fat in my diet

I eat like this for 6 days every week and have saturday off, where I basically eat what I like - it helps me stay on the 'wagon'.

I currently weigh 78 kilos as of last time on the scales. I have no idea of bodyfat%, but I can say I am currently in the best shape of my life.

2 week diet results

2 weeks ago i decided to follow a new diet / lifestyle based loosely on the Warrior Diet and the Dr Greg Ellis low carbohydrate diet (as recommended by Steve Maxwell of Brazilian Jiu Jits and KB fame). My body became a vessel of self research.

Here are the results so far:

Start day (who ate all the pies!) -
Height: 5,11 and a bit
Weight: 93.2kg (206lbs)
Wasit (around belly button): 37.5in
Right wrist: 7 1/2in
Body fat and lean body mass (as calculated by zoneperfect.com body fat calulator): 18% / 169lbs (76.6kg)

As of today -
height 5,11 and a bit
weight 90kg (198.41lbs)
Waist 36.5 in
Wrist 7.5 in
Body fat and lean body mass (as calculated by zoneperfect.com body fat calulator): 17% / 164lbs (74.4kg)

2 weeks in and i am pleased with the results. I have kept to the diet in the whole and had a few day where i went awol from my eating plans but still: 1 inch of the waist, 1% in bodyfat and looking leaner all over in that all important mirror test!
Also my energy levels have been great and i feel that my body is well on the way to fat adaptation where my energy is derived from the burning of fat rather than glyccogen.
